Great service, delicious ? Only deduction, .. Relatively moderately expensive
Great food
The recommended prosciutto, fried squid, and homemade sangria were all good!
Went to eat there on Saturday evening. No contact data collection, no hands had to be disinfected. Food (fish platter) was served on a cold hot plate. When we asked, the waiter told us that the plates were always cold because otherwise he would burn his fingers. The fish was tasty but cold quickly.
Paella Valencia- super delicious! And the service was super friendly and competent!
Great service and the location is great too. The price level is okay. Only the prices for the tapas are very high. Almost 8 euros for 6 mini niches of cheese is more than outrageous. Otherwise recommendable
Super nice and funny staff. Made reservations and got there early. We got a champagne for the waiting time. Food was delicious. The tapas portions were small and expensive. The other food was priced and quantity ok for the old town
Usually good steak and friendly service at moderate prices. It is also very nice to sit in front of the bar. But it has decreased a bit, I think, the prices have been raised and individual requests could not be met (baked potatoes instead of fries)
Unfortunately we weren't that enthusiastic. When we placed the order, interested guests were standing at the next table, the waiter interrupted our order and made sure that the new guests were seated. I think it's very rude. My partner ate spaghetti in salmon with a cream sauce. No savings were made on salmon. My flank steak was cold and not medium. I got a new one but it wasn't until my friend finished his meal. The second was well done too. And didn't like it. What a shame
Don’t be fooled, all the spanish restaurants on this block are managed by the same people. The menu is basic, the food is not special and its very overpriced. We got a dish advertised for 2 people and we were charged twice: 1 per person. The food was okay but nothing special.
We were with 4 people on site. Reservation and ordering were easy. We opted for a seafood and meat paella. It was a great choice. It was freshly made and delicious. It was nice and hot, the fish tasty and the rice was the best. Everyone was fed up. The drinks are a bit higher in price, but certainly the location of the restaurant. It is a nice alley where you can eat your food. (Unless the street musician comes with his bright violin - but the restaurant can't do anything haha) Pay. Was a little weird. I mean we were two couples and you could have expected that we want to pay separately. In stress it was a bit difficult for the waiter to tell us the amounts .... Long story short. We then broken down the amounts ourselves and paid them easily in cash and by card. Because of the misunderstanding, there was even a bargain on the house. :) The spiral staircase to the toilet is not for everyone. In any case, no accessibility was given. In principle, we can definitely recommend a visit to El Gitano. .
A quiet corner, very nice atmosphere, delicious food, cheerful waiters
Was back in Düsseldorf at El Gitano after 30 years. I could have given myself the visit. Grotto bad food; truffled fries were burnt and provided with dried parmesan cheese (miracoli) ?, squid tough and the tortilla well. Only the waiter was very nice, but also the star.
Very nice Spanish restaurant. Very friendly staff. Special thanks to Lorenzo and Antonio.
Solid, but you can tell that it is a typical place for tourists. The atmosphere in the alley is of course nice - and you pay for it. The price level is a bit higher, unfortunately this is not really reflected in the quality. We were a little disappointed with the entrecote and Co. In addition, the service seemed to be more concerned with attracting new customers than serving existing ones.
Delicious Spanish cuisine. Filet steak was bomb !!! The side dishes fresh and delicious! The paella was fantastic too. Will definitely be back.
Very good food at a decent price. Recommend
Perfect place! Great, very funny and sociable waiters, nice atmosphere and great food! Time flies in this restaurant unnoticed.
Good place
Great food and wine
Wonderful atmosphere, great food & service, very clean & inviting, when in the Old Town in Dusseldorf I highly recommend it.
Good steaks!!!
Food was great, service a bit pushy. The menu was in German and in Spanish, no English, which was a bit difficult to understand what you were ordering. Pricing was okay... a bit high for what we got. But all in all, a fine place to go and eat.
Located directly in Düsseldorf's old town. Outside, the furniture is rustic, not brand new anymore, but basically ok. The service was friendly. We have the tapas plate for € 13.50 p.p. elected. In advance there was bread (or a sliced grain roll?), Some butter and Ayvar or something similar and mayo (I didn't try it). Well, that was okay. Afterwards we got a very generous tapas platter. So far ok, but: the clamari were dry, the mushrooms overcooked. The prawns, however, are very tasty. But it's always a matter of taste. The price was just about reasonable for my taste. You probably count the good location tourist surcharge.
Delicious. Nice and fast service. Only recommended.
We were eating today on Father's Day at el Gitano. Unfortunately only 2 stars, for the proud prices you can expect a reasonable food. Rack of lamb and steak were medium but unfortunately the black roasted flavors were in the majority. The filet tips of my daughter for a proud € 21 were totally tough and overcooked. After our complaint but the waiter was so nice and the filet tips again from the bill. All in all the waiter was anxious but unfortunately I can not recommend it here. Sorry.
Very good food, in a good atmosphere. Favorite restaurant in the old town of Diesdorfer. Right near Schneider Wibbels Uhwerk. The place is very popular and there may be waiting times at peak times.
Fantastic Spanish restaurant!
Fantastic Spanish restaurant! The steak 300g is fantastic, highly recommended
I give it 5 stars because it does not allow 10! Atmosphere, decoration 100% Andalusian. Delicious food and its affordable prices (cheap, is in Düsseldorf Altstadt !!). Professional and family service. Undoubtedly the best place to end the year. I will always return. Thank you so much. Happy 2019
Tucked away in the tiny alley of Schneider-Wibbel-Gasse, El Gitano is very inviting among many Spanish offerings in the corridor. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating. The food presentation was lovely. Unfortunately, our experience was downhill from there. While the lamb tenderloin and lamb chops were cooked properly, both the meat and sauces were so salty, in rendered them inedible. Furthermore, the waiter was unfriendly and uncooperative. We would not recommend this place as there are plenty of other offering just within this passageway.
One of the many Spanish restaurants in this quarter of Dusseldorf. The PR man wasn't too pushy unlike others so we chose to eat there. The service was good and the sirloin steaks we had were excellent as were the sauces. They were quite happy for us to sit and drink wine for well over an hour after finishing our meal. Well recommended
Tender and juicy stakes
nice Spanish food, often crowded
Very nice restaurant. Especially fish is nice.
nice dinner, delicious, good service
We loved our waiter. Went to this restaurant or 1st nite, mid trip & our last night in dusseldorf. Looking forward to returning to dusseldorf AND Gitano sometime in the Near future!
good food, young visitors but not only, suggested for a warm dinner with friends and for informal business lunch/dinner
Nice place good food
